Edit after 6 months of use.Pump constantly overheats submerged entirely in water. Nothing is blocking the discharge. Overheats and requires you to disconnect from power source and wait 10 minutes before restarting. The impeller is not damaged but is very hot to touch. Will attempt warranty replacement.New pump has to be purchased as it appears you have to send the pump physically in to manufacture. The discharge connector from the pump is certainly not a smart design. Even submerged in my pond the connector comes loose from the pump which is some sort of friction type connection. Meant to be an easy disconnect but this is completely useless as it causes more problems than is a good design. I couldn't imagine the amount of water loss if this was not submerged as the profile says it can be.I was pleased that delivery was 3 days early...package was secure considering the weight of the pump. Immediately read instructions and installed the pump in the fish pond. Our pond is 12'x6' and 2-1/2'deep at one end, and has 1,300 gals of water. Performance of the pump creates a current throughout the pond and our nine fish responded playfully. It's been about 3 weeks since installing the pump and have had no problems in its performance. Actually, I have had to clean the filters more frequently, but I don't mind since I know that the pump is doing it's job.Ecellent perforamnce! Powerfull and quiet! Just what I needed for my Saltwater Aquarium!Plug in an runs like a pro!I own two Quiet One 6000's and one Quiet One 4000 pump. I had to get warranty work done on one due to the electrical cord sheath cracking at the joint to the pump.Things I like about the pump:1) They are very quiet2) They consume less power than many other pumps on the market (around half of the pondmaster mag drives)3) When they run, they pump just fine. The ONE thing I don't like about the pumps:*** Restart problems. Without exception, all three of my pumps have restart problems to various degrees (some minor, some worse). Restart meaning you unplug them (or have a power outage) and they don't start up again. The most recent one suffering from the restart problem just happened to me the other day. I took the inlet off and looked in the impeller and it was clean as a whistle, but the impeller would just vibrate and rotate a bit, but not spin. After unplugging it and plugging it back in a few times it started working and has been fine for days now. But for me this is a show stopper and is making me look for a different brand. I need to know when I'm away from home that if I suffer a power outage that my pumps will reliably restart and keep water circulating in my pond.Used for a 125gal marine tank in a 50gal sump. Perfect amount of water flow pumping up through the bottom drilled sumps and connected with 3/4 pvc and multiple unions. Purchased a quiet one 6000 around 2008 and only used a few months before using a much larger pump (sump was in basement.) Then used from 2012-2016. The gray input section was built very well and had a screw to hold it in place. The output eventually cracked off the top and i noticed it was VERY thin material. Replaced with another quiet one 6000 in 2016 and by 2019, the slots the gray input goes into totally cracked out all around. I don't know why the quality wasn't the same as the one purchased around 2008!?I currently have a bunch of zip tips holding the input on while I look for a new pump. Might try to fuse a pipe onto the output of the old pump.COME ON QUIET ONE!!! MAKE A HIGH QUALITY PUMP!!!I am pleased with the pump overall but there is a couple things that are annoying...# 1 is the pressure of the pump blows off the fountain almost immediately rendering it useless (not a threaded fitting! # 2 the filter simply just slips on with no way to attach it so when it becomes clogged with debris and you try to remove pump from pond it simply slips off leaving you chasing it to the bottom.I do believe however it is helping clean up the bottom of the pond...just wish there was some way to attach filter more securely!Bombea menos agua que mi bomba de la misma capacidad y se rompio una pieza en el interior, duro solo 2 semanas
