This pump replaced the same model I bought 4 years ago for lawn watering from a lake. It stopped last fall - but four seasons is adequate for the price Unfortunately the new one I ordered didn't work properly - some issue with impeller, although the motor turned. I only found out when I installed it after the 30 day return ended. The vendor was very cooperative with a quick response and a timely replacement. It would be useful to buy the product warranty for this pump.I bought this pump to water my lawn and flowers using water from a creek on our property. I tried the 1/2 hp version, but it didn't have the volume I needed. This pump generated the pressure and volume to do the job in 1/3 the time from the shade of my trees instead of cooking in the sun. The 1/2 hp version couldn't inflate my hoses to length or drive a large spray nozzle. Both pumps need to be placed close to the water source to generate rated flow. They cannot prime themselves so a foot valve will be necessary. The 1 hp version drives garden hoses and nozzles quite well.Pond circulation - works fine.Pump was used to circulate water in a water-storage tank and it barely lasted 10 hours. So not only are we out the money we paid for it, but we're out the money and materials of plumbing it into the system and the time it took to do it. What makes this really disappointing is that we're a non-profit wildlife sanctuary.Fair pump for the money. You can spend 3 or 4 times the money for a similar unit. Or you can just buy this pump, a second unit backup, and one or two more as stocking stuffers. My first unit is running strong.On a second unit, the casing broke, when tightening down a bolt through the mounting plate. The seller was helpful and offered me my choice of a replacement or a refund.Amazon has more than one similar pump for sale, in other colors, and from other sellers. Be certain which amazon-third-party-seller you are buying from. Best Deal Tools did me right. Recommend though that you test it as soon as you get it, and decide within 30 or 90 days if it works for you.Overall, for less than 50 bucks delivered, and backed up by the seller, you can't ask for more.i am only giving 3 stars base on looks i didnt actually hook it up yet i am taking it to another country to pump water to my bathroom or whole house, so then i will know for sure how good it is. ok as for what i see so far the pump looks solid on the outside packaging sucks though the pump was falling out the box when i pick it up. the instructions arent much help you gotta get a magnifyin glass to read it . and the pump dont show you the inlet or outlet for the water, but you can figure it out like i did just watch the rotation of the impellars. but overall so far decent product will give a long term review soon.it was a little finicky at first.... and possibly just not sure how to work it..... I could never get this pump to set on top a 55 gallon barrel with both hoses suction and discharge primed as well the pump itself..... but I found that if you set the pump on the ground and lengthen the suction hose... it does work..... I actually use this pump to move waste oil ...... to a couple of old fuel stands about six to seven foot in the air with no problem..... so far I have only trans about 1500 gallons.. and it works quite well and very happy with it so far.... in just about a month's timeThis is a strong pump with good pressure. It delivers about the same pressure and volume as a garden hose. I am using it as a recirculating pump and so far it runs great. Although it is a little louder than I expected, it is not overly noisy for the type of pump it is. For the price and performance it is a great value and I would recommend it highly.
