One of my currently installed RO systems is an Apec RO-HI 90gpd system, to which I currently have installed an Aquatec 6800, which is rated at 100gpd. I picked up the Betollo booster pump to hopefully be an upgrade to my 6800. Now that I have it in my hand, and I've literally held it side-by-side with my 6800, I'm ready to give my impression on it.In terms of build quality, I think everything included here is every bit as nice as my other pump (which is a bit more expensive than this one, despite being lower rated). I'm definitely going to install this and it's a definite upgrade. I'm not 100% sure it's a 2x upgrade, though, and the only reason I say that is because of the fact it doesn't use 2x the power of my 6800, so producing 2x the flow is questionable. I'm not saying impossible, but just questionable. My 6800 has a 24vdc .8A power adapter, which works out to a hair over 19 watts of available power. This Betollo comes with a 24vdc 1A power adapter, which works out to 24 watts. Of course these are just maximum values and might not represent the actual operating current, but operating currents should be similar for both pumps, relative to available power, just by the rules of electrical engineering design. So this has roughly 20% more available power, when I would hope for 100% more available power to produce 100% more flow. I would also somewhat expect a larger motor, but they're virtually identical in size. So, yes, it's a cheaper option than the 6800, and yes, it should put out more volume than the 6800, which makes it a recommended deal, no matter what. It's a no-brainer. But I'm not 100% convinced that it actually does 200gpd...my guess would be closer to 120, but as I said, it is entirely possible my estimations based on power consumption aren't 100% accurate when looking at the pump design and efficiency of each unit. In all, I definitely recommend this pump. It seems to be made quite well and I have no real complaints about it, and it should be an excellent alternative to the competition.
